Island Easter Egg Hunt

Come and join in the Easter fun for an egg hunt – everybody is welcome! We’ve hidden colourful wooden eggs all around the island, collect as many eggs as you can, and exchange them for tasty treats. The hunter with the most eggs found on the day will receive a special prize.

Easter Activities at The Den

To celebrate this special time of the year, The Den Team has put together an array of fun seasonal activities. Young Sonevians can explore their creative side through Easter crafts and one-of-a-kind experiences at the largest children's zone in Southern Asia.  

Carolina Bazán – Soneva Stars Visiting Chefs

Carolina Bazán Bañados opened the first Ambrosia restaurant with her family in downtown Santiago in 2003. Since then she and her partner, sommelier Rosario Onetto, started the city's first Hidden Kitchen movement, which led to a new location and a new concept for Ambrosia. The result was a modern family restaurant, where fresh market produce leads a menu that changes daily according to what’s in season. Since 2014 Ambrosia has been consistently included in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, which also named Chef Bazán Best Female Chef in 2019.

Amandine Chaignot – Soneva Stars Visiting Chef

Amandine Chaignot has worked alongside some of the world’s top chefs: Mark Singer, Alain Ducasse, Jean Francois Piege, Yannick Alleno and Eric Frechon. Each passed on their passion, sensitivity and inspiration to her – resulting in a bit of all of them in the plates she cooks. While her roots are French, Amandine is inspired by what surrounds her and what she likes, resulting in cuisine that reflects her simplicity, spontaneity and sincerity.

Jancis Robinson – Soneva Stars Visiting Wine Expert

Voted the world’s most influential wine critic in polls in the US, France and internationally in 2018, multi-award-winning Jancis views herself as a wine writer rather than a wine critic. She writes daily for JancisRobinson.com and weekly for the Financial Times., plus bi-monthly for a column that is syndicated around the world. She is the founder-editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine, author of The 24-Hour Wine Expert, as well as co-author of The World Atlas of Wine and Wine Grapes. She will be hosting exclusive wine tasting sessions and wine dinners during her stay.

James Haskell – Soneva Stars Visiting Rugby Player

James Haskell is one of the UK’s best-known rugby players. Off the pitch, he is also a regular on TV and radio and writes regularly for national newspapers and magazines, as well as specialist sport, fitness and health magazines. James will host a talk on mental health, sports and business for our guests. He will also conduct two exclusive rugby camps of 1.5 hours, offering a hands-on introduction to functional fitness training, nutrition and exercise.

Jonas Björkman – Soneva Stars Visiting Tennis Player

Since retiring from professional tennis in 2008, former World No. 4 in singles and World No. 1 in doubles tennis Jonas Björkman started his coaching career, with Andy Murray in 2015 and with Marin Cilic in 2016 and 2017. Today he works for Eurosport as a tennis commentator and coaches Swedish No. 2 and WTA player, Mirjam Bjorklund. Since February 2021, Jonas has been captain of Sweden’s men’s national padel team. He will be offering one-to-one private tennis coaching on our island court.

Mikaël Silvestre – Soneva Stars Visiting Football Player

Mikaël Silvestre was an international for France between 2001 and 2006 amassing 40 caps for the period. He was part of the team that won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001 and 2003 and runner up in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He will be hosting his ever-popular LYFE football camp during his stay for Young Sonevians.

Lars Lindberg Christensen – Soneva Stars Visiting Astronomer

Lars Lindberg Christensen is an award-winning astronomer and science communicator. He has authored a dozen popular science books and directed more than 10 documentaries and planetarium movies that have received critical acclaim around the world. He also has more than 200 publications to his credit, most of them in popular science communication and its theory. He will be hosting exclusive star-gazing sessions at our island observatory.

Hortensia Corredoira – Soneva Soul Wellness Specialist

An experienced osteopath, Hortensia’s methodology has evolved to reflect evidence that stress, emotions and unchannelled trauma have a direct impact on the body. During her 15-year career, Hortensia has collaborated with the UN, Olympics Sports Federations and high-profile private clinics. 

Roger Moore – Soneva Soul Wellness Specialist

Roger has been a key figure in the wellness sector for more than three decades. Named in Tatler’s ‘Best of the Best’ guide as ‘one of the top 8 therapists worth travelling around the globe for’, he conducts therapies, seminars and workshops around the world in energy work, spiritual healing, profound emotional recovery and growth. Roger’s unique approach combines science, medicine, Eastern wellness philosophies, psychotherapeutics and spirituality – working with you to create a whole-person, grounded and integrative pathway to wellbeing, health and a joyful existence.

Kristin Kaspersen – Soneva Stars Visiting Wellness Specialist, TV & Podcast Host

Teaching her own take on Yinyoga, Swedish TV and podcast host Kristin Kaspersen practices yoga and stretches every morning to wake her body and nervous system for the day ahead. While at Soneva, she will be hosting a series of morning yoga classes and Soma Move classes and sessions that reveal the importance of starting the day with yoga to manage stress, increase energy levels and prevent injury.

Grace Wine – Virtual Wine Tasting

Embracing Japan’s excellence in its wines, family-run Grace Wine seeks to further promote winemaking that expresses the essence of Japan. In 2014, Grace’s white wine, Koshu, opened the door to the rest of the world. Ayana Misawa, the owner of Grace Wine, will take guests on a virtual wine journey to showcase their Japanese wines alongside our expert sommeliers.

Domaine de Bargylus – Virtual Wine Tasting

Domaine de Bargylus is the Saadé family’s project to revive this vineyard that was planted by the Romans 2000 years ago in Syria – to honour this ancient terroir and create an unforgettable wine. Karim Saade, the owner of Domaine de Bargylus, will take guests on a virtual wine journey to showcase the house’s exquisite wines alongside our expert sommeliers.

Join us for a fascinating evening of storytelling and knowledge sharing as you sit around our Talker’s Table. Meet Dr. Bart Knols, who heads up our SCIE:NCE programme and mosquito management initiatives.

Sunrise Breakfast on the Sandbank

Wake up before the sun for an intimate breakfast on our sandbank. Our Hosts will whisk you away to a stretch of sand in the middle of the azure ocean, where a delicious breakfast has been set up so you can watch the dawn break.

With a delectable gourmet menu, breathtaking views over the leafy forest and the adrenaline rush of ziplining through the treetops, Flying Sauces at Soneva Fushi is the world's first fine dining zipline experience. Glide along the scenic 200-metre zipline route to our elevated dining platform, 12 metres above the ground, where you'll enjoy Chef Rasal's seasonal menu among the treetops, with exceptional vistas towards the ocean.

Dinner at Shades of Green by Ganesh

Experience an evening filled with surprises, starting with a walk of discovery through Soneva’s organic vegetable garden. The menu features simple yet experimental organic and plant-based dishes, blending Maldivian and Southeast Asian cuisines; which are then prepared using Nordic techniques such as smoking, salting, fermenting and pickling.

Dinner at Fresh in the Garden by Chef Mads

Dine high above our organic gardens, where the aromas of the herbs waft up from below. The central open kitchen gives you a front-row seat to the action, and choose to sit under cover or beneath the starry night sky. Currently, Fresh in the Garden is hosting a 12-month pop-up with a menu by Chef Mads Refslund, the Noma co-founder and pioneer for New Nordic Cuisine, that is based on the concept of 'fire and ice'.

Dinner at So Bespoke by Hiroshi

Sizzling and smoke set the stage for So Bespoke, our teppanyaki table at Out of the Blue. This outdoor restaurant commands unspoilt views across the clear waters of the Baa Atoll. Hiroshi, our experienced Japanese Teppanyaki chef, creates an intimate and unforgettable dining experience that showcases exquisite ingredients and culinary showmanship, with just eight guests per sitting.

So Social on the Sandbank

Join your fellow guests on our private sandbank every Tuesday evening as the sun begins to set over the horizon. Meet and mingle with our Management Team as you enjoy a selection of cocktails and drinks, gourmet finger food and massages on the sand to the sounds of traditional Boduberu drums.

Soneva Academy Courses

Combine your stay with a fascinating learning experience for Young Sonevians - with Soneva Academy's three-day courses on the stars, marine life, life in the jungle or zero waste and plastic pollution. Each course is suitable for older children and teens, aged 12 to 18.

The Adventure of Corbin

This special Soneva Academy adventure follows in the wake of The Corbin, a galleon that sank on the Goidhoo reef in 1602. Stay on the island of Innafushi to learn about the sea, survival skills and ancient navigation methods.

Stargazing Experience

Join our astronomer to explore the night skies over the Maldives. Learn about the various constellations and take a closer look at the moon, planets and the stars at our island Observatory (stargazing can also be combined with a dining experience).

Conscious Experience: Fishing is a Family Matter

Experience what it is like to be a sustainable fisherman in the Maldives. Discover the ancient techniques used by Rocket and his sons, and why fishing is so entwined with everyday life in this island nation. When you return to Soneva Fushi, you'll dine on your catch of the day.

Pool Party and Mocktails at The Den Pool Bar

Play some fun party games, dance to music, munch on fruits and popcorn, and splash around in the pool. Create colourful party decorations to decorate the pool bar, then make your own yummy mocktail.

Pick up an old hobby or try something new with our selection of complimentary non-motorised and chargeable motorised watersports. These include paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking, kite surfing, sailing, fun tubing (single ring, two and three-seat tube), water skiing, mono skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, laser boat, sub wing and our Seabob.

Snorkelling the Rose Garden

The Rose Garden at Goidhoo is a shallow snorkelling site that offers a spectacular display that looks like a huge underwater garden of rose-shaped coral.

Soneva in Aqua

Soneva in Aqua, our luxury, custom-built yacht, is available for day and overnight charters. The two-cabin, 23-metre vessel is the perfect blend of Soneva’s sustainable luxury ethos and an adventurous seafaring spirit. Charter Soneva in Aqua for diving, surfing or snorkelling trips to some of the Maldives’ most beautiful atolls and reefs. The Den

Inspired by childhood wonder, The Den is the largest children’s club in the Maldives and South Asia, packed with exciting, one-of-a-kind activities and experiences for our youngest guests. Discover our daily programme of fun and inspiring activities for children and teens, or simply come and hang out with us and tell us what you would like to do. The Den and our activities programme are designed for children aged 4 and above; under 4s are welcome to join us if accompanied by a parent or a babysitter. The Den is open daily from 10:00-17:00 - we do not close for lunch, so families and children can order In-Villa Dining to The Den should you wish to dine there.
