Alberto Faccani – Soneva Stars Visiting Chef
Italian chef Alberto Faccani has been passionate about the restaurant industry since he was a child. Named as one of the ‘100 chefs who have changed Italian cuisine in the last 10 years', his dynamic style of cuisine is self-taught, blending styles, forms and traditions. After working at the Michelin-starred La Frasca and Enotecca Pinchiorri restaurants, aged just 27, he decided to open his own restaurant, Magnolia, in 2003. Within just 18 months, it had received its first Michelin star, and today it has two Michelin stars to its name.
Marcel Gurk – Soneva Stars Visiting Football Freestyler
Hailed as one of the best football freestylers in the world, Marcel Gurk is the current German champion, holds ten Guinness World Records and is the author of the world's first book on football freestyling. While in the Maldives, he will be hosting complimentary daily football freestyling workshops for Young Sonevians.
Eid Dining Experiences
Celebrate Eid al-Adha with sumptuous feasts that explore the culinary culture of the Maldives and beyond. Enjoy a Maldivian-themed Eid lunch at Mihiree Mithaa, with live bodu beru entertainment and fun Maldivian activities. Take a boat trip to one of our nearby island communities to dine with a local Maldivian family. Cook what you catch (Mas Dhathuru) on the Sandbank, dine under the clear night skies, strewn with stars, during a full moon dinner, or join a Maldivian cooking class at Once Upon a Table to learn the secrets of the delicious local cuisine.

Join our hosts at the Football Ground for Eid prayers, or be a part of our Eid Parade to the rhythm of a local bodu beru group. Learn about the history of the Maldives with Jameel at Mihiree Mithaa - a fascinating insight into what life used to be like in the archipelago. Join the water splash fun on the Sandbank, take part in the tug of war, show off your skills against our hosts in the football tournament or see how slow you can pedal in our famous 'slow bike race'!

Soneva Academy Courses
Combine your stay with a fascinating learning experience for Young Sonevians - with Soneva Academy's three-day courses on the stars, marine life, life in the jungle or zero waste and plastic pollution. Each course is suitable for older children and teens, aged 12 to 18.
The Adventure of Corbin
This special Soneva Academy adventure follows in the wake of The Corbin, a galleon that sank on the Goidhoo reef in 1602. Stay on the island of Innafushi to learn about the sea, survival skills and ancient navigation methods.

With a delectable gourmet menu, breathtaking views over the leafy forest and the adrenaline rush of ziplining through the treetops – the Flying Sauces zipline is a dining experience like no other! Starting from The Den, glide along the 200-metre zipline route to our elevated dining platform – at 12 metres above the ground, it has exceptional views across the sparkling ocean. Once there, Chef Rasal will prepare an exquisite seasonal menu in our open treetop kitchen.
Lunch and Dinner at Shades of Green
Experience an evening filled with surprises, starting with a walk of discovery through Soneva’s organic vegetable garden. The menu from Chef Carsten Kyster features simple yet experimental organic and plant-based dishes, blending Maldivian and Southeast Asian cuisines; which are then prepared using Nordic techniques such as smoking, salting, fermenting and pickling.
Dinner at Fresh in the Garden by Chef Mads
Dine high above our organic gardens, where the aromas of the herbs waft up from below. The central open kitchen gives you a front-row seat to the action, and choose to sit under cover or beneath the starry night sky. Currently, Fresh in the Garden is hosting a 12-month pop-up with a menu by Chef Mads Refslund, the Noma co-founder and pioneer for New Nordic Cuisine, that is based on the concept of 'fire and ice'.
Dinner at So Bespoke by Hiroshi
Sizzling and smoke set the stage for So Bespoke, our teppanyaki table at Out of the Blue. This outdoor restaurant commands unspoilt views across the clear waters of the Baa Atoll. Hiroshi, our experienced Japanese Teppanyaki chef, creates an intimate and unforgettable dining experience that showcases exquisite ingredients and culinary showmanship, with just eight guests per sitting.
Carne Diem Grill by Dharshan
This innovative concept at Down to Earth is built around a unique charcoal grill created by Dharshan himself. It operates at a temperature of 750 ̊C to lock in the flavour of succulent meats, freshly-caught seafood and tender vegetables.

Catch a classic movie under the stars as you dine on a menu inspired by Australia’s eclectic cuisine with a deliciously healthy twist.
So Social on the Sandbank
Join your fellow guests on our private sandbank every Tuesday evening as the sun begins to set over the horizon. Meet and mingle with our Management Team as you enjoy a selection of mocktails and drinks, gourmet finger food and massages on the sand to the sounds of traditional Boduberu drums.
Stargazing Experience
Join our astronomer to explore the night skies over the Maldives. Learn about the various constellations and take a closer look at the moon, planets and the stars at our island Observatory (stargazing can also be combined with a dining experience).
Conscious Experience: Slow Life Journey
Delve into our Slow Life philosophy that has sustainability at its heart. Take a tour of our Eco Centro Waste to Wealth Centre and the organic gardens at Fresh in the Garden. Learn about the principles of permaculture then pick greens and herbs, which our chefs will transform into a delicious lunch.
Conscious Experience: Wildlife Explorers
Specially designed for Young Sonevians and their families, this immersive experience lets you get up close to the wildlife on our island. Learn about our flora and fauna and their names in Dhivehi (the language of the Maldives), then discover how to spot animal tracks.
Pool Party and Mocktails at The Den Pool Bar
Play some fun party games, dance to music, munch on fruits and popcorn, and splash around in the pool. Create colourful party decorations to decorate the pool bar, then make your own yummy mocktail.

Pick up an old hobby or try something new with our selection of complimentary non-motorised and chargeable motorised watersports. The Rose Garden at Goidhoo is a shallow snorkelling site that offers a spectacular display that looks like a huge underwater garden of rose-shaped coral.

Soneva in Aqua
Soneva in Aqua, our luxury, custom-built yacht, is available for day and overnight charters. The two-cabin, 23-metre vessel is the perfect blend of Soneva’s sustainable luxury ethos and an adventurous seafaring spirit. Charter Soneva in Aqua for diving, surfing or snorkelling trips to some of the Maldives’ most beautiful atolls and reefs. The Den
Inspired by childhood wonder, The Den is the largest children’s club in the Maldives and South Asia, packed with exciting, one-of-a-kind activities and experiences for our youngest guests. Discover our daily programme of fun and inspiring activities for children and teens, or simply come and hang out with us and tell us what you would like to do. The Den and our activities programme are designed for children aged 4 and above; under 4s are welcome to join us if accompanied by a parent or a babysitter. The Den is open daily from 10:00-17:00 - we do not close for lunch, so families and children can order In-Villa Dining to The Den should you wish to dine there.
